Losar is a picturesque village located in the Lahaul-Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is situated at an elevation of around 4,000 meters and lies close to the Indo-Tibetan border. Losar is the first village that travelers encounter when coming from Manali via the Kunzum Pass on their way to Kaza, the headquarters of Spiti Valley.
Nearest airport is Chandigarh or Jubbarhatti Airport near Shimla.
Buses/Shared Taxis: HRTC (Himachal Road Transport Corporation) runs buses from Manali and Reckong Peo towards Kaza. However, Losar is a remote village, so getting a direct bus is rare. From Manali: Take a bus to Kaza, then another one towards Losar. From Reckong Peo/Shimla: Take a bus heading to Kaza or a shared taxi. From Kaza, local taxis or buses can take you to Losar.
The nearest railway stations are at Shimla or Joginder Nagar, but train travel is not very convenient due to the remoteness of the region. After reaching Shimla or Joginder Nagar, continue your journey by road as mentioned above.
