Chikkamagaluru or Chikmagaluru is a hill station situated in Karnataka, South west part of India. It is also known as " Coffee Land " of Karnataka. Chikmagaluru is one of the most beautiful hill station in Karnataka. It has a perpetual fragrance of Coffee lingering in the air from its plenty of Coffee plantations. Apart from its Coffee plantation, Chikmagaluru is also famous for its tall mountains, Lush green forests and serene environment. Chikmagaluru experience very good tourist footfall and is also a quick relief for the people of Karnataka. Any tourist who is a Coffee enthusiasts and have love for the nature would take a walk through numerous plantations. Many of Coffee estates have their own homestay's so that the visitor can smell the fragrance of Coffee throughout the day. Chikmagaluru also offers trekking spots and encourage trek lovers through many incredible trekking trails, such as the Mullayangiri trek, the Kemmanagund trek, and the Baba Budangiri trek. Tourists can also enjoy rafting at the Bhadra River. Other tourists place are Baba Budangiri, Mahatma Gandhi Park, Hirekolak Lake, Jhari waterfalls, Kavikal Gardi View Point, Belur, Coffee Museum etc. All throughout the year Chikmagaluru has a cool and pleasant climate, but the best time to visit is from September to May.
Nearest airport to Chikmagaluru is Mangalore. Flights from all major cities connects with Mangalore through direct or Via flights. Rented cabs are available outside the Mangalore airport.
